Sunset Captiva ~ is a private community of 59 single family “stilt” beach homes located on the Gulf of Mexico side of Captiva Island in the heart of its Old Florida style village. Seven homes are beachfront. There are some bay side condominiums, which represent Sunset Captiva Harborside. The condos as part of this community have access to the amenities.  Homes in Sunset Captiva are a 0 to 5-minute walk to the beach, the condos are 5-10 minutes to the beach.  All of Captiva's lovely shops and restaurants are in walking distance.  Some of the owners use their homes as their full time residence, and some are rented.

Sunset Captiva community amenities include:

• Captiva's White Sugar Sand Beach with rare and unusual seashells

In Sunset Captiva the exterior of the homes were originally in gray or brown earth colors. Owners are starting to paint them in other Florida (e.g., yellow and green) tones offering an Old Florida feeling to this already special community.

Sunset Captiva oceanfront and oceanside homes are “stilt” beach homes…so there are steps up to the first floor. They do not offer elevators, and they have 2 floors of living area.

Homes must be rented on a 7 night minimum basis. Most are on a Saturday to Saturday schedule. Pets are not allowed due to homeowner association regulations.

Since beachfront and beach side homes are available in Sunset Captiva, please let us know your preference. Beachfront homes normally have significantly higher rental rates.

Tastefully decorated in fun primary colors with a tropical flair; offset by the crème colored ceramic tiles and wall to wall carpeting, this home offers every convenience you would expect of an exclusive beach resort including cable TV/VCR, washer, dryer, dishwasher, air conditioning, and ceiling fans.

The comfortable screened porch (decorated with wicker furniture and tropical cushions) is connected to both the kitchen and dining area.
